How does SWL benefit students?

Learn Workplace-Ready Skills

Think time management, communication, and solving real problems..

Apply What You Learn

Take industry theory and put it to work during placements.

Earn Credit Toward Your Certificate

Completing requirements (like 80 hours of placement plus class work) can count toward your VCE, VCE VM, or VPC.

Build Career Networks

You get a taste of industry culture—and meet professionals who can help you long term.

Structured Workplace Learning (SWL) lets students combine real on-the-job training with their VCE, VCE Vocational Major, or Victorian Pathways Certificate studies. It helps connect classroom learning with actual work experience through Vocational Education and Training (VET).
